Middlebury man arrested for attempted homicide

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Christopher J. Emilo, 55, of Middlebury for attempted second-degree homicide, first-degree aggravated domestic assault, and second-degree aggravated domestic assault, following an investigation of an incident in the Buttolph Acres neighborhood this past Saturday, Feb. 22.

Police said they were called to the residence at around 10:20 p.m., on a report of a domestic dispute. Police, upon their arrival, said they separated the involved parties and began their investigation.

Middlebury police, through a press release, simply stated that “as a result of the investigation, it was determined that Christopher J. Emilo had assaulted a family or household member.”

Emilo was held without bail at Rutland’s Marble Valley Region Correctional Facility pending his Monday, Feb. 24, arraignment Vermont Superior Court, criminal division.
