Classic Film Club hosts ‘The Thin Man’ in Middlebury

'THE THIN MAN,' with Myrna Loy, Skippy, and William Powell (1936) will screen at the Marquis Theater in Middlebury on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. Free and open to all. Part of the Ilsley Public Library and the Classic Film Club.

Join fellow film lovers to see the next classic film at the Middlebury Marquis Theater on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. February’s screening will feature “The Thin Man.” It’s the story of a retired detective who, while spending much of his time managing his wife’s considerable fortune and consuming quantities of alcohol, is asked to follow the trail of a missing inventor. Although reluctant, he is persuaded to investigate by his wife’s craving for adventure, and together they embark upon a case that leads to the disclosure of deception and murder.

This film series is brought to the community by Ilsley Public Library with the Classic Film Club. Come watch iconic comedies from the 1930s and ’40s, followed by a short conversation with fellow movie lovers. Popcorn’s courtesy of the Marquis.

The final film of the series will be presented on March 20: “His Girl Friday.”
