Pre-registration date looms for Vt. berry growers talk
Members of the farming community are invited to enjoy a day of learning and camaraderie at the Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers Association (VVBGA) Annual Meeting on Jan. 28 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Burlington.
The day will include presentations given, mostly by farmers, on the following topics: coping with flooding; market garden infrastructure; using the H2A program; assessing profitability; cover crops; on-farm engineering; reviving a blueberry farm; strawberry production; organic pest management; adapting to climate and market shifts; and a slide tour of farms in Korea and Japan.
There will also be a trade show with vendors of greenhouses, seeds, equipment, supplies, and more.
Among those slated to speak are Stephen Park of Full Belly Farm in Monkton, who’ll talk about strawberry production and marketing.
For more details and registration information, head online to tinyurl.com/VVBGAmtg.
Pre-registration ends Jan. 23. The cost is $65 for VVBGA members, or $75 for non-members. Questions can be directed to [email protected].
