John J. Jewell, 78, of Vergennes
VERGENNES — John J. Jewell, 78, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born June 8, 1946, in Panton, the son of Earle and Clara Miner Jewell.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and horse racing. He served in U.S. Army during Vietnam War. He worked for 30 years for LeBeau & O’Brien Oil Company in Vergennes. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles-Addison County in Vergennes, VFW Post 7823 in Middlebury, and American Legion Post 19 in Bristol.
John is survived by his wife, Linda Todd Jewell; a grandson, Joshua Edwards; four brothers, George Jewell, Gene Jewell, Kevin Jewell and Peter Jewell and their wives; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
