Harold S. Kittredge, 71, of New Haven
NEW HAVEN — Harold Steven Kittredge, 71, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.
He was born on March 29, 1953, in Windsor, Vt., the eldest son of Stephen and Mary Ingraham Kittredge.
He began working on the family farm and continued farming for over forty years.
After farming, he purchased his first Kenworth ten-wheeler. Harold was most proud of the fact that he had driven over three million miles as a long-haul trucker. For those who are curious, that’s roughly 120 times circumnavigating the globe.
After deciding to stay closer to home, Harold shifted gears to driving a dump truck for various companies in the area.
Harold enjoyed being outside. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, and sugar. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and working on project cars in his garage; if there was a car show in the area, you could find him there.
Harold is survived by his wife, Claudia; children Harper, Quinn, Seth, Jason, William, and Macie; brothers Michael and Stephen; sister Susan; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins that he adored.
Any contributions to honor Harold’s memory may be made to: VUHS Wrestling, 50 Monkton Road, Vergennes, VT 05491. ◊
