Letter to the editor: Bray responsive to constituents, collaborative on job

I support Senator Chris Bray for reelection. Chris listens, researches and collaborates to find solutions to our most pressing issues. Former Republican Governor Jim Douglas confirmed that when he said of him, “Chris Bray is an honorable public servant with whom I can work.”

I have contacted Chris to ask about issues or express concerns. He’s curious about my perspectives and willing to share his knowledge, which is always multifaceted, never superficial, assimilating a broad range of perspectives.

Senator Bray does his homework and is committed to addressing the complex challenges we face in Vermont. He has worked with colleagues to address health care, support agriculture, create clean water and energy, reduce property taxes and support businesses. He values our natural resources and the education of our youth. Chris seeks solutions that represent all his constituents.

I’m concerned there is some level of misinformation about Chris Bray and what he stands for. Decisions made in the Vermont State Senate are not made singlehandedly. Chris Bray is a hard worker who believes in the importance of giving back to his community. At the recent senatorial candidates forum he said, “I know how to work across the aisle…I am on your side.” I believe him.
