Letter to the editor: Heffernan a good choice for state Senate seat
I wanted to take a moment to write a quick note about my friend and colleague Steve Heffernan, who is running for the Addison County Senate Seat. I had the honor and privilege to serve alongside Steve in the Vermont Air National Guard. He and I were on the same military team, and I got to see “Heff” at work in all manner of situations. He’s cool headed, brave, logical, proven under stress, and quick with a joke to keep things light. He’s always been a strong leader, whether it’s at the front of a military team, a successful business, or a quiet leadership to help others get their feet under them. He knows what’s truly important, and has a perspective on life based on morals, hard work, family, and friendship. I’ve always been humbled at his genuine personality, his generosity, and the way that he communicates with all those around him.
He grew up in Vermont, and is familiar with Vermont, its ways, and the people who live here.
I know that he’ll work hard on behalf of the residents of Addison County, and Vermonters in general, if he’s voted into office. I know this because I’ve seen him work hard on behalf of others his whole career. He has my complete support, and I wish him success.
