Bristol Police Log: Police seek suspect in Aug. 28 break-in
BRISTOL — Bristol police are seeking information about a break-in at the Champlain Farms convenience store in Bristol.
Police responded to an alarm activation on Aug. 28 at the West Street business and determined that someone broke the window of the door, entered and stole cartons of cigarettes.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Bristol police at 802-453-2533.
Between Aug. 11 and 31 Bristol police completed 33 foot patrols, conducted 25 traffic stops, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 20 times, at Bristol Elementary School 21 times, and at local businesses 15 times.
Police also processed 48 fingerprint requests, conducted six welfare checks and facilitated the return of one cell phone.
In other recent activity, Bristol police:
- On Aug. 11 responded to a report of unlawful mischief at Blaises Mobile Home Park. Investigation is ongoing.
- On Aug. 11 received a report of a custody dispute and referred the matter to the appropriate agency.
- On Aug. 12 received a dog found roaming on Church Street. Police returned the dog to its owner and issued the owner a ticket.
- On Aug. 12 were told of a citizen dispute on West Street. The person involved was gone when police arrived.
- On Aug. 13 logged a report that someone had damaged a truck window with a slingshot on Pine Street. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Bristol police at 802-453-2533.
- On Aug. 13 performed a property watch for a resident in the North Street area.
- On Aug. 13 helped someone with a safety concern on the town green.
- On Aug. 13 responded to a theft on Prince Lane. An investigation is ongoing.
- On Aug. 14 provided a safety talk to a Monkton Road daycare in Monkton.
- On Aug. 14 arrested Christopher Hart, 34, of New Haven on a warrant for failure to appear in Addison Criminal Court.
- On Aug. 15 received a report of a missing dog on Route 116 South.
- On Aug. 15 received a report of a theft from a West Street business. An investigation is ongoing.
- On Aug. 17 received a found hat and a blue Patagonia wallet, which were placed in the lost and found.
- On Aug. 19 responded to a motor vehicle crash on East Street and cited Pamela Fuller, 57, of Bristol for driving with a criminally suspended license and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device. Police also ticked Fuller for driving without liability insurance.
- On Aug. 19 received a report of someone on South Street violating a court order. Investigation is ongoing.
- On Aug. 19 responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Airport Drive. Police did not observe any illegal activity.
- On Aug. 20 checked Route 116 North for a vehicle parked in the roadway on a curve. Police reported a contractor was expected to move the vehicle.
- On Aug. 20 received a complaint of a dog at large in the Stonewall Drive area. Police issued an ordinance violation ticket.
- On Aug. 23 responded to a dog at large complaint on West Street. The dog was retrieved by its owner when police arrived.
- On Aug. 26 helped Vermont State Probation and Parole locate someone.
- On Aug. 26 received a report of a social media problem on Mountain Street. An investigation is ongoing.
- On Aug. 28 responded to an animal complaint on Vincent Drive. A nuisance dog investigation is ongoing.
- On Aug. 28 responded to someone lying on the ground in the Stoney Hill Road area and offered the individual a ride.
- On Aug. 29 helped someone locate lost property on Stoney Hill Road.
- On Aug. 29 assisted in removing a hazard from Burpee Road.
- On Aug. 30 checked a Main Street residence for a possible recording device. No device was located.
