Ida M. Ballard, 95, of Middlebury

IDA M. BALLARD

MIDDLEBURY — Ida M. Ballard, 95, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at Mountain View Center in Rutland. She was born in Harford Mills, N.Y., the daughter of Earl William Higham and Thelma Keyes.

She lived in Lisle, N.Y., for many years with her husband, Donald. They moved to Florida to be closer to her daughter, Linda Cassidy and family, and her son Richard Strong but most of all her granddaughters, Tonya and Kalen.

She happily continued her career as a dental assistant there for the next 29 years. She loved working with her plants and her flower gardens. She also loved to walk every day no matter the weather. She could be found in the winter walking on Brookside Drive. She was a member of the East Middlebury Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cassidy of Middlebury, as well as one sister and two brothers. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Donald and her only son Richard. Donations may be made to East Middlebury Methodist Church.
