Letter to the editor: County should return its two Senate incumbents

The Primary Election is next week, when Vermont citizens have the opportunity to begin to select the folks who will lead us for the next two years. Addison County has greatly benefited from the leadership, knowledge and hard work of our two dedicated senators, Chris Bray and Ruth Hardy.

I am enthusiastically supporting both of them to return to Montpelier in January. Both have demonstrated their commitment to all in our community of all income levels, as well as current residents and those who hope to live here in the future. Ruth has had a focus on education and healthcare, and Chris, a Chair of the Senate Natural Resources Committee, has had a leadership role in protecting natural resources, energy, and addressing climate change and its impacts.

Both are extremely knowledgeable, skilled and heartfelt at listening to constituents’ concerns and ideas, and passionate about working on solutions to the issues Vermont faces, in education, affordable housing, healthcare, and community resiliency. They have served Addison County and Vermont admirably and I will be voting to return them to Montpelier to continue their work. Please join me in supporting Ruth and Chris for the Vermont Senate and please be sure to vote, an important citizen responsibility.
