Letter to the editor: Many helped make Bristol’s July 4 events successful

The Bristol 4th of July celebrations this year were nothing short of spectacular, and we have our wonderful community to thank for it. From the vibrant parade to the lively outhouse races, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and a profound sense of togetherness.

Firstly, we extend our deepest gratitude to all the participants, volunteers, and attendees who made this year’s Independence Day festivities unforgettable. Your enthusiasm and community spirit truly embodied the essence of this beloved holiday.

This year’s parade showcased the creativity and dedication of our community members. The floats were a testament to the hard work and imaginative spirit that defines our town. We are thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s float competition:

  • First Place: Zeno Mountain Farm
  • Second Place: Shaw’s Supermarket
  • Third Place: Girl Scout Troop 51876

The outhouse races, always a crowd favorite, brought an extra level of excitement and competition to the day’s events. This year’s race saw fierce competition, but in the end, Larose Surveys emerged victorious, demonstrating not just speed, but also exceptional ingenuity and teamwork.

We would like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the event organizers, local businesses, and sponsors who supported the celebration. Your contributions were invaluable in ensuring the success of the event. Special thanks to our local police, fire and rescue departments for ensuring the safety and smooth flow of activities throughout the day.

As we reflect on this year’s festivities, we are filled with gratitude and pride. The 4th of July is a time to celebrate our nation’s independence, and this year it also served as a reminder of the strength and unity of our community. We look forward to many more celebrations together and to the continued tradition of coming together in the spirit of joy and camaraderie.

Thank you once again to everyone who participated, attended, and supported the 4th of July celebrations. Here’s to many more joyous and memorable events in the future!
