Surplus gives Vergennes a modest tax increase
In the 11th hour for adopting a budget for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25), Vergennes officials calculated there would be enough of a surplus left over from the current fiscal year to limit the increase in the city property tax rate needed to support municipal spending in the next year to just over 1 cent.
