Letter to the editor: ‘Mama Mia’ crew thankful for support

Anyone who grocery shops for their household knows how expensive it is to put food on the table right now. When a group of parent volunteers began discussions for how to feed the cast and crew of Vergennes Union High School’s production of Mamma Mia during their technical rehearsals/performance week, we knew we’d need some community support to help our dollars stretch as far as possible.

We reached out to several local restaurants and food-service businesses and were unsurprised by their prompt, generous responses. Each of our donors gave easily and enthusiastically, enabling us to provide our students and their support team with delicious meals and a welcome chance to sit together each evening before the night’s work commenced.

We are grateful for the kind support of the following businesses: Black Sheep Bistro, Community Market, Dakin Farms, Green Peppers, Maple Meadow Farms, Middlebury Bagel and Deli, Middlebury Natural Food Co-op, Mister Ups, Park Squeeze, 3 Squares Café, and Vermont Cookie Love.

Amanda Letendre & Alexandria McGuire (Commodore Friends of Music, parent volunteers)
