GREGORY BRUCE FORREST

BRISTOL — Gregory Bruce Forrest of Bristol passed away peacefully Feb. 4, 2024, in Middlebury, Vt., with his daughter by his side.

He was born June 20, 1962, in Proctor, Vt., to Wayne and Patricia (Keith) Forrest. He graduated from Mount Abraham Union High School.

His career consisted of working at Drake & Smith Furniture, Breadloaf Construction, where he dedicated 20 years, until he then became a self-employed carpenter. He was a very hard-working man who overly dedicated himself to his work projects. He mostly enjoyed building high quality houses for people. He specialized in his fine finish carpentry.

You could give Dad a piece of wood and he was thrilled to head to his woodshop and run it through the planer, let his creativity flow until he had completed the most beautiful project you could ever imagine.

Greg was predeceased by his father; a sister, Terry; and his infant daughter Heidi.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia of Pittsford; stepmother, Theresa of Florence; siblings Vicki of Brandon, Raymond (Kelly) and Artie (Bonnie)  of Florence, Tammy of Burlington, Michelle (Keith) of Hinsdale, N.H., and Sandy of Florence; and his children, John of Panton and Halle (my mom Michelle of Lincoln, my brother Marc (Lizzy) of Benson) and our beloved “girls,” dogs Luna and Zinnia.

I want to thank our special nurses, Matt, Pantira and Musa at Miller 5 for their friendship and caring, to help us through this challenging journey.

A private celebration of life, as per Dad’s wishes, will be held at a later date.
