NANCY MYRICK

BRIDPORT — Nancy Myrick, 66, of Bridport, daughter of Robert and Rita (Counter) Myrick, transitioned peacefully on Sept. 26, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece and dear friend, her journey began on March 2, 1957, growing up on a dairy farm with eight siblings. She was a graduate of MUHS class of 1975 and went on to take childcare courses. She had a love for children, enjoyed walks and taking pictures in nature, tending to her flowers, and going out to eat. She was a private person, very smart and lived a simple lifestyle, while striving to be independent. She was very conscientious, always remembering family and friends on their birthdays and special occasions.

Nancy enjoyed puzzles and games, especially Jeopardy, and certainly challenged us all with her quick answers. She enjoyed listening to some of her favorite artists like the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and the Bee Gees, while baking in the kitchen. She also loved gathering around the campfire with family and friends, enjoying good food and conversation. She will be dearly missed by all.

The family wishes to acknowledge with much gratitude, special friend Carma Fitzpatrick who selflessly provided support and care to Nancy.

Nancy is survived by three brothers, Larry Myrick and wife Tammy, Steve Myrick and wife Cindy, Dennis Myrick and wife Andrea; three sisters, Mary Myrick-Paquette, Susan Myrick-Gilbert and Lori Myrick; aunts Sister Gertrude Myrick and Kathryn Myrick; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Rita Myrick, and brothers Stanley Myrick and Dana Myrick.

A memorial service is being planned for a future date to be announced.
