JOY E. HUNT

MIDDLEBURY — Joy E. Hunt, 91, left the earth side unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Oct. 21, 2023, with family by her side.

She was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Middlebury, the daughter of Guy and Lydia (Severy) Bishop. Joy was a graduate of Middlebury High School class of 1949.

She had various employments throughout her lifespan, but her favorite space was being a stay-at-home mom. Joy enjoyed decorating mini furniture with her husband, was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her grand (and great-grand) children. Joy — the ultimate definition of who she was — defined by her name and carried through to all that she knew.

She is survived by her daughters, Terry (Mike) Quinn, Susie Cyr and Gail Mannigan (Chris); by her grandchildren, Megan (Dan), Nathan, Brianna (Tarry), Desi, Anna (Tom), Caleb, Mathew, Jonathan, Jesse, Ryan (Alison), Katie (Steve), Cody (Catherine), Rob (Delia), Kristi, Tamra (Frank) and Andy; by her 18 great-grandchildren; an adopted daughter, Lisa Schroeder; and many extended family members and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Donald E. Hunt; her brother. Bud Bishop; Ed Cyr, Jacob Quinn, Jenna Cyr and many furry friends.

Many thanks to the hospice care team at Porter and Helen Porter.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Homeward Bound Addison County Humane Society at 236 Boardman Street Middlebury, VT 05753.

Arrangements are under the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home. Online Condolences at www.sandersonfuneralservice.com. ◊
