NANCY JUNE BAUMGARTNER

RUTLAND — Nancy June Baumgartner, 86, formerly of Middlebury, died Sunday evening, Oct. 8, 2023, at The Pines in Rutland after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 27, 1937, in Middlebury the daughter of Edward and Helen (Faivre) Grant. Nancy attended local schools. She was employed as a Residential Instructor at the Counseling Service of Addison County.

She enjoyed listening to music, traveling and spending time with her family. Nancy was well known as the tiny, feisty lady with the big smile.

She is survived by her children, John LeCompte (June), Cynthia Webb (Richard) and Kylie Scheck (Robbie); by her five grandchildren, her three great-grandchildren with the fourth on the way; and by her sisters Marie Nazworthy and Marjorie Webb.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Charles Baumgartner; by her son, James LeCompte; and by her siblings Patricia Chamberlain, Raymond, John and Edward Grant.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday Oct. 21, from 1-4 p.m., at the Sarah Partridge Community House in East Middlebury.
