ROBERT “BOB” MARTIN

MIDDLEBURY — Robert “Bob” Martin died on June 27, 2023, at the Arbors in Shelburne after a long journey with Alzheimer’s.

Bob was born in Hartford, Conn., on March 10, 1943, to Ida Gervais and Paul Martin. He was educated at the Windsor, Conn., public schools, received his B.S. and M.S. at Central Connecticut State University, and his Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Maryland.

After a post doc at the University of Pennsylvania, Bob taught Mathematics and Computer Science at Middlebury College for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, Holly McKenzie, his sister, Linda, and his children: Ashley Cross, Marshall Cross, Hilary Cross, Jason Cross, Seth Martin, Nicole Nicholson, Michael Martin, and eight grandchildren.
