Robot camp offered at the Bixby
VERGENNES — Thanks to a grant from FIRSTinVT, Bixby Memorial Library will host a Lego robotics camp for kids aged 9 to 14 at the library Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The camp, which is free, uses Spike Prime kits that attach to Legos to create and program robots. At the conclusion of the camp on Friday, June 30, Bixby will host a community event to showcase the efforts of the campers. The camp is filling up very quickly, but as of Tuesday, June 20, there were a few spots still open. Organizers are also in need of a few more high school-age counselors.

FIRSTinVT, which aims to create a generation of highly skilled problem solvers, organizes local robotics competitions. This year they have secured funding through the AOE to sponsor free week-long robotics camps for kids age 9-14 around the State.
