Green energy festival comes to the Little City
VERGENNES — While the warm summer sun shining and thoughts of solar energy are not far from many people’s minds, Vergennes in mid-July will be the site of an expo designed to educate people about ways to power our modern lifestyle without polluting the planet.
The municipal Energy Committees of Vergennes and Ferrisburgh will sponsor a Green Energy Fest on the Vergennes City Green on Saturday, July 15, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The free event will offer energy-saving ideas and solutions from vendors, organizations, utility representatives and guest speakers.
Organizers are expecting at least a couple dozen organizations to take part, but at the end of May they had not yet firmly established a line up speakers or vendors who will be present. Look for a story in the weekly Addison Independent as the date approaches for additional information.
Everyone is invited to come, meet, participate and learn.
It’s a festival, so expect some fun, including raffles and refreshments.
