VERONICA PEARL JAMES

BRISTOL — Veronica Pearl (Davis) (Vincent) James, 74 years old, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023, with her children by her side. She was born on April 1, 1949, in Burlington, Vt., the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Mashteare) Davis.

She was predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Frank James Sr., on May 2, 2022, and they were married Oct. 26, 2002. Veronica was the youngest and was predeceased by eight siblings and her parents.

Veronica is survived by her four children from her first marriage to Fletcher Vincent Jr., Paula and husband Tim Steady of Shoreham, Vera Vincent and partner Troy Adams of Monkton, Bobbie Jo and husband Richard Sawyer of New Haven and James Vincent of Bristol; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two stepsons from marriage to Frank, Eric James of Bristol and Frank Jr. and Amy James of Brandon; and three step-grandchildren.

Veronica had an extended family from her time working at Basin Harbor Club in Panton, Vt., for 40 plus years — a place where she loved to work and visit and had many friends. During her free time, she loved yard sales, fishing, casinos, bingo and especially time with family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing for their exceptional care to, and love for,  Veronica.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 7, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol, with a graveside service following at Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. A celebration of her life is scheduled for 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Bristol American Legion.
