BRISTOL — Marie Lalonde Miller, 62, of Bristol, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and fiancé, Robert Atherton, on Dec. 17, 2022.

Marie was born on Sept. 28, 1960, and graduated from Middlebury Union High School in 1978. She retired from Phoenix Feeds in 2020 and loved spending her summers in her flower and vegetable gardens. She also so enjoyed her summer trips to Maine with Rob.

Marie is survived by her fiancé, Robert of Bristol; her son, Justin Miller of Middlebury; her brother, Pierre (Missy) Lalonde; niece Lindsay Lalonde; nephews PJ Lalonde and Nathan Lalonde; Aunt Carmen Desforges; Uncle Robert Audet (Claire); and many cousins, including Gail Dubois with whom Marie so enjoyed their weekly phone calls. She is also survived by Rob’s sister, Mary Atherton and her children; Heather Layn and family; and Josh Hurlburt and family, who were very special to Marie. She is also survived by Rob’s siblings and families including niece Elizabeth and nephew Benjamin, who Marie was fond of.

She was predeceased by her father, Theodore Lalonde in 1967 and her Mother Jeannette Lalonde in 2011; aunts and uncles Madeline and George Dubois, Marcel and Yvonne Audet, Ernest and Roland Cloutier, Henry and Joanie Audet and John Desforges. Marie was also predeceased by Rob’s parents, Brian and Ramona Atherton, who she affectionally called Gram and Gramps.

A service will be held on Jan. 21, at the New Haven Congregational Church at 1 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Homeward Bound or any dog rescue organization — Marie loved her dog Mia, who also survives her and was a rescue dog. ◊
