Richard Brileya, 79, Moriah, N.Y.
MORIAH, N.Y. — Richard Leland Brileya,79, of Moriah, N.Y., died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vt.
He was born September 7, 1943, in Middlebury, Vt., to Edward Charles Brileya and Alta Alberta (Bishop) Brileya. He attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 1962.
Upon graduating, he served in the Air Force from September 1962 until September 1968. He then worked at Standard Register in Middlebury, Vt., until his retirement.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Joyce; 2 daughters, Brenda (Lester), and Melissa Mae; 2 stepsons, Rod and Jeff; 2 sisters, Elaine and Ramona; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Alta; 2 brothers, David and Ronald; and 2 sisters, Carolyn and Marilyn.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 11 a.m., at Lakeview Cemetery in Shoreham, Vt., followed by a celebration of his life at the American Legion in Vergennes.
