88-YEAR-OLD David Benedict, a summer resident of Salisbury, emerges from his recent swim across the largest segment of Lake Dunmore.

It’s not everyone who is fit enough to swim across the widest part of Lake Dunmore, but it’s far more rare to be able to swim that distance in open water at age 88.
