PATRICIA A. MINOR

NEW HAVEN — Patricia A. Minor passed from death into life on Tuesday, July 13, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the faithful wife of the late Calvin Minor and devoted mother of Arlon Minor (Rachel) and Shannon Minor. Pat is also survived by her twin sister Donna, sister Karen, and brothers Mike and Nick.

Pat’s family was the center of her world, and it was her wisdom, support, and encouragement that helped shape her children into the people they are today. Pat always put the needs of others before her own and created a home full of warmth and love. She blessed countless people with her genuine kindness, gracious hospitality, and generous spirit. Her home was often the go-to spot for get-togethers, competitive game nights, and the highly anticipated winter holidays. At Pat’s, there was always an empty bed made ready for anyone passing through.

Pat also touched the hearts and minds of so many in the community during her more than 33 years as teacher and mentor at Beeman Elementary School. Her passion for learning and dedication to her students made a lasting impact on all those who knew her. The simple pleasures in life such as reading and gardening brought great joy to Pat. She could often be found listening to the Harry Potter series while tending to her many flower and vegetable gardens. She loved being outside in nature, enjoying God’s beautiful creation.

Pat’s number one priority was God. She had a quiet strength and steadfast faith. She was a committed Christian and worshiped and served with Addison County Church of Christ for over 35 years. Her relationship with the Lord was her source of hope, contentment, and peace. It influenced how she approached life and every decision she made. Even during her final months, she was not fearful of the outcome because she trusted in God and His plan. We draw our strength from the Lord, just as Pat did, and we look forward to the day when we will see her again.

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m., at Beeman Elementary Gymnasium (Town Hall). All are welcome to join in honoring Pat’s memory. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the service.◊
