Edgewater Gallery preps for plein air event
The Edgewater galleries in Middlebury launch into August with a new exhibition opening at the Mill Street gallery that’s a continuation of the theme at the Merchants Row gallery: “Studies to Studio.” At Mill Street, Edgewater is featuring two plein air painters: Joe Bolger from Shoreham, and Scott Addis from Montreal. The Merchants Row gallery is showing new works by Timothy Horn, William Hoyt and Rory Jackson.
These shows are prepping us all for the second annual celebration of plain air painting —Plain Air 2021 — an event that Edgewater is planning in Aug. 19-21. Tim Horn will give a talk on Thursday, Aug. 19, 5-6:30 p.m.; eight Edgewater artists will paint in downtown Middlebury from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 20 and Saturday, Aug. 21; then the event will conclude on Saturday with a cocktail party and wet paint sale at Edgewater Gallery at the Falls from 4-6 p.m. Tickets are $10 each. Available online or by calling 802-458-0098.
Here are the details of the two exhibits:
