Bristol Police Log: Can you identify this person?

BRISTOL POLICE SAY this photograph from a National Bank of Middlebury ATM in Bristol on June 4 shows a person who may have disabled the automatic teller machine by pinching it.

BRISTOL — The Bristol Police Department is asking the public for help as it investigates an incident of vandalism that occurred around 11:30 p.m. on June 4 at the National Bank of Middlebury ATM on Main Street.

Police believe someone may have punched the screen after a transaction would not complete, said Bristol Police Chief Bruce Nason. The damage has disabled the ATM until it can be repaired.

Police are looking for the individual depicted in this story’s accompanying photograph, which was captured by the ATM around the time of the incident.

Anyone who knows this person or has any information about the incident is asked to contact Bristol police at 802-453-2533 and cite case number 21BR01276.

In other news, Bristol police in separate recent incidents cited three town residents for driving with a suspended license.

Arlene Denis, 74, was cited on May 25 and ordered to appear in Addison County Criminal Court on July 26.

John Lucia Jr., 53, was cited on May 27 and ordered to appear in court on Aug. 9.

Tiffany Bedard, 32, was cited on May 31 and ordered to appear in court on Aug. 2.

Between May 17 and June 6 Bristol police completed 31 foot patrols, conducted 20 car patrols, monitored traffic during school dismissal twice, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 21 times, at Bristol Elementary School 20 times, and at local businesses 22 times.

Police also completed at least six fingerprint requests, verified two vehicle identification numbers, conducted one welfare check without incident, helped two people get into their locked vehicles (and offered to help a third but the request was canceled), and facilitated the return of one lost wallet and two loose dogs.

The department also assisted Vermont State Police twice, Bristol Rescue Squad once, Bristol Fire Department once and the Vergennes Police Department once.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  On May 17 responded to a complaint about erratic driving and found the driver was not impaired, but had slowed down to view scenery.

•  On May 18 helped remove a traffic hazard.

•  On May 18 responded to a motor vehicle complaint and determined the driver was unfamiliar with vehicle controls and showed them how to turn their lights on.

•  On May 21 responded to an animal noise complaint and informed a dog owner of the dog-barking ordinance.

•  On May 22 monitored traffic during a morning event.

•  On May 23 dealt with a minor motor vehicle crash.

•  On May 24 attempted to deliver a message from the Oneida, N.Y., District Attorney’s Office and determined the intended recipient had moved out of the area.

•  On May 24 helped someone who was complaining about a bear.

•  On May 24 began investigating a stalking complaint.

•  On May 24 responded to a complaint about erratic driving, found the driver and gave them a warning.

•  On May 25 directed traffic while a utility company worked in the roadway.

•  On May 25 responded to a complaint about a loose dog and issued a warning to its owner.

•  On May 25 began investigating a threatening complaint.

•  On May 25 began investigating an alleged phone scam.

•  On May 25 helped someone with a building security check.

•  On May 26 directed traffic around a road hazard.

•  On May 26 removed a cable line from the roadway.

•  On May 27 began investigating a vandalism complaint.

•  On May 27 started a property watch.

•  On May 28 directed traffic while a banner congratulating the Mount Abraham Union High School Class of 2021 was raised across West Street.

•  On May 29 issued a parking ticket following a complaint.

•  On May 31 responded to a report of a citizen dispute in the Mountain Street area and determined no action rose to the level of an offense.

•  On May 31 investigated a report of vandalism on Rockydale Road, secured photos and will forward to the appropriate investigating agency.

•  On May 31 investigated a report of a loose horse on Route 116 but found nothing.

•  On June 1 dealt with to a minor motor vehicle crash on Prince Lane.

•  On June 2 investigated a motor vehicle complaint in the Maple Street area but did not find the vehicle.

•  On June 2 helped Mount Abraham Union High School with a juvenile issue.

•  On June 2 looked into a report of a dog at large in the area of Route 17.

•  On June 3 responded to a motor vehicle complaint on the west side of town, identified the driver and issued them a ticket.

•  On June 4 helped Bristol Elementary School with a truancy concern.

•  On June 5 received a motor vehicle complaint on the west side of town but the vehicle was gone before police arrived.

•  On June 6 issued parking warnings on the east side of town.
