BRISTOL — On May 8, Bristol Police received a request to check on the welfare of a person who’d been dropped off in town around 11 a.m., but who hadn’t returned home or been heard from by 8 p.m.

The person was eventually located at 10:30 p.m. and police helped them find transportation to their residence in New York state.

Between April 26 and May 16, Bristol police completed 31 foot patrols, conducted 11 car patrols, monitored traffic during school dismissal five times, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 21 times, at Bristol Elementary School 20 times, and at local businesses 21 times.

Police also completed at least eight fingerprint requests, responded to three alarms that turned out to be false, served court paperwork to two people, and verified two vehicle identification numbers.

The department also assisted Vermont State Police twice.

In other recent activity, Bristol police:

•  On April 27, investigated a report of a person consuming alcohol while driving and determined the report was unfounded.

•  On April 28, went to check one the welfare of an occupant a vehicle, but couldn’t find the reported vehicle.

•  On April 30, helped clear a traffic hazard.

•  On April 30, helped someone with a disabled vehicle get a ride home.

•  On May 1, investigated a suspicious person call and determined the person worked for a survey company collecting information related to COVID-19.

•  On May 3, began investigating a threatening complaint.

•  On May 5, helped Bristol Elementary School with a truancy concern.

•  On May 5, began investigating a threatening complaint.

•  On May 6, helped a business on Main Street.

•  On May 8, began investigating a theft complaint.

•  On May 9, began investigating a theft complaint.

•  On May 9, responded to a report of a barking dog and warned the dog’s owner.

•  On May 10, helped someone obtain mental health services.

•  On May 10, began investigating a stalking complaint.

•  On May 10, began investigating a threatening complaint.

•  On May 12, conducted a welfare check without incident.

•  On May 12, began investigating a report of stolen property.

•  On May 12, conducted local Sex Offender Registry checks and found all to be compliant.

•  On May 13, mediated a citizen dispute.

•  On May 13, responded to a motor vehicle complaint.

•  On May 13, helped a local person obtain medical services.

•  On May 13, investigated a threatening complaint. Police continue to investigate the matter.
