Teresa Ann Dalton, 83, of Middlebury

TERESA ANN DALTON

MIDDLEBURY — Teresa Ann Dalton passed away peacefully at home May 1, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family.
Ann was born July 26, 1937, at Porter Hospital in Middlebury, Vt. Ann grew up in Salisbury, where her parents, Ernest and Lucienne Maheu, owned and operated the Dyer General Store. Ann attended Salisbury Elementary School, St. Mary’s School in Middlebury, and graduated from Middlebury High School.
Ann graduated from the Jeanne Mance School of Nursing at Bishop DeGoesbriand Hospital in Burlington, Vt. While working as a Pediatric RN at Mary Fletcher Hospital in Burlington, Ann met and married her husband of 61 years, John J. Dalton Jr., M.D., a medical student at UVM College of Medicine.
In 1965, after living in Miami, Fla., Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Richmond, Va., Jack and Ann settled and raised their family in Dunedin, Fla. They returned to their roots in Vermont after retirement.
Ann is survived by her husband Jack and their four children: Linda Metzler of Clearwater, Fla.; Thomas Dalton of Essex Junction, Vt.; Elizabeth Corey of Middlebury, Vt.; and Leslie doPico of Vail, Colo. Ann is also survived by seven grandchildren, her sister Joan Johnson of Trumbull, Conn., and her brother, Bruce Maheu of Salisbury, Vt.
A memorial Mass and celebration of life is planned for later this summer.
Memorial gifts may be made to the University of Vermont Cancer Center, or Addison County Home Health and Hospice.
