J&J vaccine clinic open to public at Middlebury College on May 4
MIDDLEBURY — The Vermont Department of Health (VDH), Walgreens, and Middlebury College are partnering to offer a COVID-19 vaccination clinic open to all Vermont residents age 18 and older on Tuesday, May 4. The VDH will administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the Middlebury College Athletics Complex on South Main Street.
The clinic is open to all Middlebury College faculty, staff and students as well as the public. Registration on the VDH website is required to receive a vaccination. Registration for the clinic opened on April 29.
Make an appointment online at healthvermont.gov/myvaccine.
There will be 500 doses available. Since the Johnson & Johnson vaccination only requires one dose, no follow-up visit is needed.
Middlebury College Chief Health Officer and College Physician Mark Peluso said he is happy that the college is able to partner with the Department of Health to help make the clinic possible.
“We are looking forward to helping the VDH as it continues to roll out the vaccine,” said Peluso. “We’re also glad that we can offer a vaccine right here on campus to students, faculty and staff.”
Peluso said that it is possible that Middlebury will host more clinics in the coming weeks and he is working with the VDH to confirm those plans.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently announced that states should resume administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. More information about the vaccine is available on the CDC website.
Middlebury College continues to support students who want to receive the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. “We will offer clinics with other vaccines if they are available in the future,” said Peluso.
