SHIRLEY ANN CHAMBERLAIN AMBLO

NEW HAVEN — Shirley “Gramma Shirley” Ann Chamberlain Amblo, 83, left this world to be with our Lord and Savior forever more on Monday, April 19, 2021. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Vergennes, Vt., to Henry and Margaret Chamberlain. She graduated from Vergennes High School and went on to pursue her love of cooking and nourishing people both physically and emotionally. She worked as a dietitian at Porter Hospital and cooked for Rumford Hospital in Maine before realizing her dream of owning her own restaurant. She owned and operated DJ’s, where she was loved and adored by all who enjoyed her amazing cooking and conversation. Her pies were a menu favorite!
Shirley loved to cook, feed people, and grow food. She adored her beautiful flower gardens and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an amazingly crafty person and her crocheted doilies are prized by all who received one as a gift. Her positive, giving attitude was contagious and uplifted everyone who was blessed to know her.
Gramma Shirley is survived by her sister, Barbara Bedore; her son, Jessy James Amblo; her daughter, Kimberly Ann (Amblo) Rheaume and her husband Andre; her three wonderful grandchildren, Ediana Amblo Walker and husband Elijah, Alexander Lewis Rheaume, and Zechariah Rheaume and wife Emily; and her nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley asked that donations be made to help her lifelong friend with mounting medical bills. Donations can be sent by mail to: Victory Baptist Church, Attn: Special Helps-Shirley’s Friend, 862 US Route 7, Vergennes, VT, 05491 or online at: victoryvt.org, “Online Giving” — choose ‘Special Helps’ fund and enter the note: ‘Shirley’s Friend.’
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.◊
