Middlebury Police Log: Police investigate domestic assault
MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police investigated a report of an alleged domestic assault at a South Village Green apartment on Feb. 16. Police said they’ve referred the case to the Addison County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
• On Feb. 16 arrested Lonny J. McCray Jr., 33, of Salisbury on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
• Retrieved a sexual assault evidence kit from Porter Hospital on behalf of Rutland police on Feb. 17.
• Received a report that dogs on Morse Road had been attacked by loose dogs on Feb. 17.
• Received a report that a person with a psychiatric disability had threatened someone at a local physician’s office on Feb. 17.
• Responded to a noise complaint in the Valley View neighborhood on Feb. 18.
• Checked on a man said to be unresponsive in his vehicle parked off Exchange Street at around 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 18. Police said the man was snoozing in his vehicle while waiting for his work shift to start.
• Investigated allegations that workers at an East Middlebury business weren’t wearing masks and weren’t social distancing on Feb. 19.
• Received a call about an injured hawk off Foote Farm Road on Feb. 20. Police contacted county Fish & Wildlife officials, who in turn reached out to a bird rescue volunteer to assist the hawk.
• Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS officials with an intoxicated woman in the Court Street area who was seeking mental health counseling on Feb. 21.
• Responded to a report of an intoxicated woman who had allegedly been seen walking in the middle of North Pleasant Street on Feb. 21.
• Assisted staff at the Charter House Coalition’s warming shelter who were trying to calm a guest who was causing a disturbance on Feb. 21.
• Responded to a reported domestic dispute at a Weybridge Street home on Feb. 21.
