PITTSFORD — Gregory Gerald Bianchi, age 59, passed peacefully Feb. 14, 2021, while ice fishing on Lake Champlain in Shoreham.
Greg was born in Rutland Oct. 31, 1961. He was the son of Gerald and Mary (Todriff) Bianchi. He grew up in Rutland, where he received his early education and graduated from Rutland High School, class 1979. Greg began his working years as a chef at various Rutland area restaurants. He later drove truck for Frito-Lay. He also worked as a mechanic for Ray Nutting Automotive Sales. Working at Pidgeon’s Auto Salvage in Leicester started his interest in auto tires. He came into his own when he opened Greg’s Tire in Brandon in 2016. He enjoyed demolition derbies, fishing and going to the casino.
He is survived by his son, Kyle A. Bianchi of North Clarendon; his father, Gerald Bianchi of Pittsford; one brother, John Bianchi of Rutland; two sisters, Cheryl Patch of Montana and Alisa Bianchi of Minnesota; and his partner-in-life, Cheryl Tafoya of Pittsford. Two granddaughters and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his mother.
A gathering in celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brandon. The Rev. Maurice Moreau, pastor, will be the celebrant. Friends may pay their respects to the family, at the church, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service, at 11 a.m. Please wear a face covering.
