MIDDLEBURY — Mildred (Janousek) Witteman, 69, joined her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Jan. 30, 2021.
Millie was born to George and Florence (Vaughan) Janousek in Plattsburgh N.Y. She attended Beeman Academy and graduated from Mount Abraham.
Millie worked for 10 years in the business office at Standard Register and later as a driver for ACTR. She was a member of the New Haven United Reformed Church. Millie moved into Middlebury Commons in 1991 as soon as it was completed and resided there for almost 30 years.
She is survived by sisters, Katherine (George) Caswell and Marion (John) Sullivan, as well as several special nieces and nephews. She also leaves her former husband and best friend, Philip Witteman, and two wonderful caregivers, Susan Pidgeon and Julie Austin, who brought tremendous joy to her life.
She will be missed by her many friends and family whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held later this summer. Donations in her memory may be sent to Samaritan’s Purse.◊
