Bristol Police Log for Nov. 12

BRISTOL — On Oct. 20, Bristol police responded to a report of attempted burglary at the Bobcat Café on Main Street. At around 6:15 a.m. two people were seen attempting to burglarize the restaurant and were last seen running onto South Street.
Bristol police are requesting public assistance. Anyone who saw or has information about the attempted burglary is asked to call 802-453-2533 and reference case number 20BR01944.
Between Oct. 19 and Nov. 1, Bristol police completed 19 foot patrols and six car patrols in various parts of town, some of which were part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. Officers conducted two welfare checks without incident; checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 10 times, at Bristol Elementary School twice, and at local businesses nine times; completed at least 10 fingerprint requests; and facilitated the return of two lost debit cards and one wallet.
The department also assisted Vermont State Police once and Bristol Rescue once.
In other recent activity, Bristol police:
•  On Oct. 20 began investigating a motor vehicle complaint.
•  On Oct. 20 responded to a noise complaint and told the offender to turn the music down.
•  On Oct. 21, following a traffic stop, cited Reme Rock, 37, of Bristol for driving with a suspended license and ordered him to appear in Addison County Superior Court, criminal division, on Dec. 28.
•  On Oct. 21 responded to a 911 call, which turned out to be a misdial.
•  On Oct. 22 initiated a property watch.
•  On Oct. 23 helped someone whose vehicle was disabled. Police helped remove some plastic covering that was dragging under the vehicle.
•  On Oct. 23 began investigating a fraud complaint.
•  On Oct. 23 completed a foot patrol at Mount Abraham Union High School during a sporting event.
•  On Oct. 24 responded to a report of a stray dog, but could not find it.
•  On Oct. 24 checked on two people who were reported to have fallen into the water at Bartlett Falls. By the time police arrived they were out of the water, cold but uninjured, and no help was needed.
•  On Oct. 24 responded to a 911 hang-up call that turned out not to be an emergency.
•  On Oct. 28 responded to a residential alarm activation, which appeared to be a malfunction.
•  On Oct. 29 helped resolve a dispute between a parent and child.
•  On Oct. 30 helped Mount Abraham Union High School with a truancy issue.
•  On Oct. 30 helped someone who was locked out of their vehicle.
•  On Oct. 31 responded to a complaint of a speeding motorist, located the vehicle and issued a written warning to the driver.
•  On Oct. 31 received a report of a lost purse.
•  On Oct. 31 recovered a new tire on Lincoln Road. The owner should contact Bristol police at 802-453-2533.
•  On Oct. 31 patrolled the streets during Halloween.
