Margaret Parlour, 93, of Panton

PANTON — Marg Parlour passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 16, at home, with family at her bedside.
Throughout her life, Marg, in her own quiet way, impacted her family and her many lifelong friends in Vermont, around the country, and in Canada, with her unconditional love and acceptance. Whether through her beautiful paintings, poetry, love of books, and her caring for nature, her goals were clear — sharing her love, respect, and caring ways, and working for a more peaceful and tolerant world. In her roles as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative, friend, and artist, she never wavered from these aspirations, as demonstrated by how she conducted her life. Her door was always open to those in need.
Marg was a lifelong learner, earning her college degree when in her 60s, and always reading and listening to gain more insight and wisdom. She also loved to travel with family and friends, including those in her special circle of artists. She lived all over the country, from coast to coast to coast, and cherished her long-standing relationships with those she met along her journey.
Marg was a loyal and generous supporter of organizations that represented her values of acceptance, learning and the celebration of creativity, such as local libraries, Special Olympics Vermont, public broadcasting, and various artists groups.
She leaves behind her daughter Sydney and her partner, Terry; her son Roger and his wife, Kama; and her son Chuck and his wife, Kathy; her grandchildren Joel, Brittany, Carlos, Martha, Charles, Derrick, and Shardae; and her great-grandchildren Brinton, Adeline, Asher, Hannah, Katherine, Makayla, Kairo, Curtis, and Zooey.
Donations in her honor may be made to the Bixby Library, Special Olympics Vermont, and Mouth and Foot Artists. Plans for a memorial service are to be determined for sometime in 2021.◊
