Helen Frances Sperry, 95, of Cornwall

HELEN FRANCES SPERRY

CORNWALL — Helen Frances Sperry, age 95, passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, at Helen Porter Health and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.
Helen was born in East Middlebury, on April 29, 1925. She was the daughter of Roy and Edla (Piper) Sperry. She was really a lifelong resident of Cornwall, where she grew up and received her early education. She graduated from Middlebury High School. She worked for many years, in various capacities, at Kennedy Brothers in Vergennes. She was very shy but had a heart of gold. She was an avid gardener, and continued rototilling and mowing well into her 80s. She loved animals, especially cats and watching birds. She was also an avid Red Sox fan. Helen never married or had children of her own, but loved hearing stories from her favorites: Gabe, Alex, Jason and “The Girls,” — Kate, Audrey and Rachel.
She is survived by her cousin Nancy Kemp of Cornwall and many second cousins. In her later years she was looked after by Brian Sperry and his wife Lorri. She was predeceased by her brother, Gardner Sperry, and many other family members.
The graveside committal service and burial will take place on, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, at 10 a.m., in the family lot, at Central Cemetery in Cornwall.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to Addison County Humane Society, 234 Boardman Street, Middlebury, VT 05753.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.◊
