MARJORIE CECILE QUESNEL

SHOREHAM — Marjorie Cecile Quesnel, age 87, passed away on Aug. 26 at her home after a long illness.
Marge was born in 1933 in Middlebury, the youngest child to the late Simon and Nellie (Abair) Desjadon. She graduated from Middlebury High School in 1951. She worked as a seamstress for Van Raalte from 1951 to 1954. On Aug. 2, 1953, she married the love of her life, Robert J. Quesnel. She was a stay-at-home mom raising six children and managed Bob’s insurance business from their home for 44 years.
Marge was known for her quick wit and sweet demeanor.  She was cherished by those who came in contact with her and had a smile that could warm your heart. She was an animal lover, enjoyed baking pies, gardening and many walks around the trail behind their home lovingly referred to as the “Jimmy John.”
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert Quesnel of Shoreham and her children, David (Kathy) of Middlebury, Vt.; Linda (Tom) of Holyoke, Mass.; Debbie (Everett) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Diane (Joe) of Manchester, Conn.; Suzie (Chris) of Asheville, N.C.; and Brock (Sara) of Orwell, Vt.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Katie, Josh, Matt, Travis, Xavier, Zack, Nate and TJ; and six great-grandchildren.
On her 80th birthday her only granddaughter gave her the greatest gift — the birth of her first great-grandchild. She is also survived by two special nieces, Laura and Pam. Besides her parents, Marge was predeceased by her 11 siblings and her granddaughter, Brenna.
The graveside committal service and burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m., at St. Genevieve Cemetery in Shoreham. The Rev. Luke Austin, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury, will officiate. For those wishing to pay their respects, please wear a face covering.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homeward Bound, Addison County’s Humane Society, 236 Boardman Street, Middlebury, VT  05753.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. millerandketchamfuneralhome.com. ◊
