SALISBURY — Dean Kevin Whitney, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at his home in Salisbury.
Dean was born in Middlebury on Jan. 10, 1974. He was the son of John and Lorraine (Piper) Whitney Sr.
Dean was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He loved his grandchildren and felt blessed to be able to spend time with them every day, along with his best friend “Amber.” Dean loved music, and spending time with his mom and siblings. Dean worked in the family business, Whitney’s Custom Farm Work, for over 20 years. He enjoyed working side-by-side with his family. He was predeceased by his father, John T. Whitney Sr., on Oct. 7, 2016.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine P. Whitney; his daughter Tamika Doner and her spouse, Michael Condon; Tamika’s mothers, Michelle M. Whitney and Heather Bond. Dean’s three grandchildren, Kalyce, Lorraine and Gary, Jr.; his siblings, John T. Whitney, Jr. and his wife, Michelle L. Whitney, Jason Whitney, Peggy Whitney and her spouse, Dennis, Lisa Thompson and her husband, Tim Thompson, and Andy Whitney and his wife Debra Whitney. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him.
The graveside committal service and burial will take place, on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 12:30 p.m., at West Side Cemetery in Salisbury.
