Letter to the editor: Independent’s support of Molly Gray is well-placed

I strongly endorse your editorial of July 16.
Molly Gray has the commitment, the integrity, the experience and the intellectual curiosity to justify making her our next lieutenant governor.
As a farmer, food producer and Vermont agricultural advocate I am also impressed by Molly’s background and her understanding of the importance of Vermont agriculture to our economy, our consumers and our region. As well as recognizing the hard work that Vermont farmers are undertaking to reduce their water quality impacts and improve the rural environment. Molly will be the right person to have in the office of lieutenant governor as Vermont emerges out of the disruptions that result from this coronavirus pandemic response to a “new” normal.
Molly has the drive and determination, while having the ability to listen constructively, that we need. Her international experience coupled with her Vermont upbringing will make her a well-rounded and thoughtful lieutenant governor.
