Lonnie LaFlam, 66, of Bristol and Wildwood, Fla.
BRISTOL — Lonnie LaFlam, 66, of Wildwood, Fla., and Bristol Vt., left his earthly body on Friday July 3, 2020, in a boating accident.
Lonnie was born April 8, 1954 in Middebury, Vt., to Darrel and Patricia LaFlam (Charron). He attended schools in Middlebury, New Haven and Bristol.
After school he joined the Army where he served in Korea. Upon discharge he worked as a lineman before becoming a truck driver. He loved driving truck with his little Dakota by his side watching the scenery go by. Lonnie retired around 2018 after surviving a serious accident. Lonnie loved his 1998 Dodge truck and his boat and motorcycle. His best days off road were on the water.
Lonnie is survived by his beloved dog Dakota; step-father Arthur Lafountain; sisters, Mary Forand (John), Barbara Gevry, Chere Rhodes (Ronnie), Kathleen Lafayette and Jeanne Lane (Wayne); brothers Gary Peter (Trina), Christopher (Tammy), Tom and Timothy; two stepsons, Kenneth, and Jay Ayers; two stepdaughters, Paige and Nicole; son Lonnie Laflam Jr.; and uncle Bill Charron. He had multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that loved him.
He was also survived by his aunts Diane Charron and Sandra Lafley of Vergennes. He was predeceased by his father, Darrel Laflam; mother, Patricia Lafountain; sister Stephanie Materson (Bill); brother Michael Laflam; his sister-cousin Rhonda Mable and her father Ralph Mable.
A celebration of life will be held outside at Rick Rockwell’s at 955 South Route 116, Bristol Vt., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 26. ◊
