Vergennes paving means more delays next week
VERGENNES — Daytime paving during the week of July 13 to 17 is once again expected to delay traffic in downtown Vergennes, according to a Vermont Agency of Transportation press release issued late on Thursday.
Work during those five days, typically to be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., will include:
• Culvert work on West Main Street south of the Otter Creek bridge on Monday,
• Sidewalk-area prep “in various locations throughout the project,” and concrete pouring in areas that have already been prepped throughout the week. Crews will also backfill and spread topsoil on areas where new sidewalk has been poured, a task that will continue all week.
• Weather permitting, completion of the pedestrian bulb-outs being installed at Main Street’s intersections with Green Street and Monkton Road.
VTrans is advising drivers to expect traffic flaggers and one-way traffic at work sites along Main Street.
