Letter to the editor: Holcombe is the best choice for governor
We will be voting for Rebecca Holcombe in the Democratic primary for governor.
Rebecca is best known for her role as Vermont’s Secretary of Education, where she became intimately aware of the educational needs of communities all over Vermont and where she advocated for equitable access to education and childcare for all Vermonters. Her administrative experience in Vermont government sets her apart from the other Democratic candidates for governor. She also has experience as an outdoor educator, public school teacher, and school administrator.
Rebecca has committed to real affordability by tackling healthcare and pharmaceutical costs and working for inclusive and affordable homes and rentals in walkable downtowns. She recognizes the connection between a sustainable green-energy economy and environmental health. She has been endorsed by Sunrise Middlebury, which stated “Holcombe is committed to ensure that all bills are viewed with both an environmental and equity lens. Her views of the world around us and ideas to tackle its problems align with the values of our organization at Middlebury College.” Rebecca has also been endorsed by Governor Madeleine Kunin, former Addison County Senator Claire Ayer, several area state representatives, and Emily’s List.
Because of her broad experience and willingness to take on difficult issues of importance to Vermonters we are supporting Rebecca Holcombe. Please join us in voting for her in the Democratic primary.
