HIGHLAND, N.Y. — Robert Howard Sunderland of Highland, N.Y., age 80, died June 13, 2020, at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., after a short illness.
He was born in Rhinebeck, N.Y., on Aug. 4, 1939. He graduated from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School in New York in 1957.
He was a Navy Veteran, serving from 1962 to 1968.
He owned SunLand Car Transport Company and SunLand Swimming Pool Company in Red Hook, N.Y. He also lived in Bridport, Vt., and operated SunLand Auto Transport there for several years.
He was predeceased by his parents, E. Wayne Sunderland and Ruth (Forrest) Sunderland. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Ronald Sunderland and E. Wayne Sunderland Jr.
He is survived by cousins L. Harold Sunderland (Margaret), Larry Sunderland (Joyce), Joyce Gaboriault (Clement) and Linda Forbes, all of Bridport.
He will be buried in the family plot at the Bridport Central Cemetery.◊
