Acute Respiratory Clinic at Middlebury Primary Care

SPONSORED CONTENT:
As one element of Porter’s response/preparations to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have established a new “Acute Respiratory Clinic” (ARC) at the Middlebury Primary Care office on Exchange Street. The providers at that Porter clinic care for pediatric and adult patients with COVID, ear infections, pneumonia, flu, asthma, COPD, and cardiac conditions in what is designed to be a safe setting (individually, outside in tents, with providers garbed in PPE). They perform COVID tests on sick patients and provide triaging for more advanced care.
According to Dr. Deb Huber, one of the ARC providers, “Several patients I’ve seen with advanced pneumonia or COPD exacerbations waited at home far too long, afraid to walk into a hospital or doctor’s office for fear of contracting coronavirus or taking up needed resources. We see a decent number of folks every day, though I suspect from conversations with patients that there are many more out there who should be evaluated, so we encourage people to call their provider if they have any health concerns so that we can see them in a timely manner.”
