BRISTOL — On Feb. 11 Bristol police cited Joshua S. Goodrich, 30, of Danby for violation of a refrain from abuse order. Goodrich was the passenger in a vehicle being operated by the protected person, who had been stopped for having an expired registration.
Goodrich was ordered to answer the charge in Addison Superior Court, Criminal Division, on Feb. 24.
Between Feb. 3 and 23, Bristol police completed 31 foot patrols and more than six hours of car patrols in various parts of town, some of which were part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. Officers checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 20 times, conducted 21 business checks and processed at least 14 requests for fingerprints, and facilitated the return of two loose dogs.
The department also assisted Vermont State Police once, Bristol Fire Department once, the Addison County Unit for Special Investigations once and the Lake County (Calif.) Sheriff’s Office once.
In other recent activity, Bristol police:
• On Feb. 3 ticketed a vehicle for being parked on the travel portion of a roadway.
• On Feb. 3 helped someone complete an insurance report after they discovered damage to their vehicle, which may have occurred in a parking lot.
• On Feb. 5 assisted Mount Abraham Union High School with a truancy case.
• On Feb. 5 responded to a report of a vehicle creating a traffic hazard on the side of the road, but the vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
• On Feb. 5 responded to a dispute but determined that no action rose to the level of an offense.
• On Feb. 7 responded to a report of a parked vehicle on Mountain Street that was interfering with snow plowing. Police located the owner and ordered the vehicle removed.
• On Feb. 7 responded to a report of a tractor-trailer stuck on a hill, contacted the Agency of Transportation and called a towing company.
• On Feb. 7 completed a foot patrol during a basketball game at Mount Abe.
• On Feb. 8 completed a welfare check.
• On Feb. 8 completed a property watch at Mount Abe.
• On Feb. 11 responded to a parking complaint and ordered the vehicle to be moved.
• On Feb. 11 completed a foot patrol during a basketball game at Mount Abe.
• On Feb. 12 responded to a motor vehicle complaint and assisted with a vehicle that was stuck at the entrance of a driveway.
• On Feb. 12 responded to a report of a family fight but found that no action rose to the level of an offense.
• On Feb. 13 completed a welfare check and observed no issues or concerns.
• On Feb. 13 responded to a report of a family fight but found that no action rose to the level of an offense.
• On Feb. 13 served court paperwork to someone.
• On Feb. 14 responded to a two-car crash with no injuries or reportable damage, and facilitated the exchange of information between drivers.
• On Feb. 14 completed a foot patrol during a basketball game at Mount Abe.
• On Feb. 15 assisted a disabled vehicle on East Street, deploying traffic cones, providing emergency lights, and directing traffic around it.
• On Feb. 16 completed a car seat installation.
• On Feb. 19 responded to a parking complaint, contacted the owner and ordered the vehicle removed. Also advised a local business to update no-parking signs to indicate that violators would be towed at the violator’s expense.
• On Feb. 20 responded to a parking problem and issued tickets to vehicles in violation.
• On Feb. 21 completed a welfare check and observed no issues or concerns.
• On Feb. 22 completed a welfare check and observed no issues or concerns.
