Girls’ hockey tips Colonels in OT

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team edged Brattleboro, 3-2, in overtime on Monday in a game postponed from the previous Friday.
The victory pushed the Tigers’ record to 10-5-1, good for second place in Division II heading into a Wednesday game at Essex, D-I’s second-place team. The Tigers will return home on Friday for a 5 p.m. game vs. U-32.
On Monday Avery Gale netted the overtime game-winner, assisted by Bella Gale.
Bella Gale gave the Tigers the lead in the first period, with an assist from Audrey Schnoor. Kenene Otis, assisted by Camille Malhotra, made it 2-0 in the second period, but the 6-9 Colonels rallied to tie it after two periods on goals by Juniper Lepape and Liv Romo.
Tiger goalie Abby Hodsden made 19 saves, while Colonel goalie Eliya Petrie kept her team in the game with 31 saves.
