Tiger girls’ hockey moves to 7-3

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team swept two games last week to improve to 7-3.
The Tigers are on the road this week at Burlington-Colchester on Wednesday and Woodstock on Saturday.
On this past Wednesday the Tigers scored late to snap a 1-1 tie and defeat host Burr and Burton, 3-1. Bella Gale broke the deadlock with 3:30 remaining and added a pad goal 29 seconds later. Audrey Schnoor scored the first MUHS goal earlier in the third period, and goalie Lydia Deppman made 20 saves. Stella Turner scored for BBA, and goalie Lola Herzog made 45 saves.
On Friday the Tigers outlasted visiting Champlain Valley, 3-2. Avery Gale led the way with a goal and an assist, Schnoor and Taylor Moulton each scored, and Bella Gale, Merry Kimble and Hana Doria picked up assists. Tess Everett scored twice for the Redhawks. Abby Hodsden made 15 saves for the Tigers, and CVU goalie Grace Ferguson denied 25 shots.
