GARY A. SCOTT

PORT HENRY, N.Y. — Gary A. Scott, 72, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at his residence in Port Henry, N.Y. He was born Sept. 12, 1947, in Addison, Vt., the son of William Joseph Scott Sr. and Alberta Charity (Martin) Tatro.
Gary married Glenna Dorina Desautels on Dec. 7, 1968. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling and carpentry.
Gary graduated from Vermont Technical College, worked at Emilo Building Supply, was employed as the farm manager for Hannaford Career Center for several years and later started G. Scott Construction and Sons.
He is survived by his children; Russell Scott and Kevin Scott, both of Port Henry, and Christine Fay (Matt) of Essex, Vt.; by his siblings Marilyn Richer (Leonard), William J. Scott Jr. (Donna), Marjorie Jerger (Pete), Lynda Bolduc (Andre), David Scott, Watson Scott (Deborah), Charmaine Godin (Kenny) and Deborah Preston (Bill); by his 6 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his best friend Phil Vargo of Port Henry.
He was predeceased by his parents, by his stepdad Sam E Tatro Sr., by his wife Glenna Scott on Dec. 3, 2012, and by siblings Leonard Scott and Sandra Scott.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at 1 p.m., at St. Peter’s Church in Vergennes with the Rev. Yvon Royer as the celebrant.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Moriah Ambulance Squad at P.O. Box 72, Moriah Center, NY 12961, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
