MIDDLEBURY — Carole J. Fenn of Middlebury died on Dec. 16, 2019, in her home surrounded by loved ones — a day after her 70th birthday and a year after she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer.
Family said she was a strong, independent, intelligent, talented woman who had a passion for music — particularly the cello. She worked for years at Middlebury Union Middle School.
She is survived by daughter Jennifer Fenn and husband Luke Richter and children Freyalisa and Merlin; daughter Rebecca Fenn and her son, Alexander Porter; honorary granddaughters Hannah Cormier and Angelus Porter; siblings in-law Ellen Fenn, Joe and Nancy Church and Doug Fenn; and countless other family and friends. 
She was predeceased by husband Dale Fenn in 2009.
